ABOUT THIS CLASS

In this rope tutorial, Ropunawa teaches his take on the Reverse Prayer Tie with his model Freya.

Ropunawa’s latest class is a structural-but-fun challenge for both rigger and model alike. With hands tied in a ‘prayer’ position behind the back, the Reverse Prayer Tie is a visually striking harness that relies as much on the shoulder flexibility of the person being tied as it relies on the skill of the person doing the tying. An essential check to do before beginning is to see if the model’s hands comfortably fit into the space between their shoulder – with that confirmed, you can go ahead and get started with this rewarding tie.

This tie is suitable for all students from intermediate level up, however, it is not suitable for every model. Only attempt to do it if their flexibility allows for it.

It's a demo people, you have to see the whole video to understand certain subtleties, for example I manage to hold a Strappado without any nervous risk, on the other hand there is the blood problem which can hide a nerve problem, hence the interest to communicate well throughout the duration of the session, there it is the same thing, the sansguin can hide a nerve problem so he communicates with her to find out if there is a problem, there is lots of comunication in shibari.

Thank you for this video :)

I like this method, and I do this at home, except, I've found that binding the wrists together and when pulled from overhead, the elbows come together and meet. When, bound and when the wrists are relaxed, her arms can be strapped to her body easier.

That does look like it’s hitting awful close to the radial nerve valley. Is it too close?

Arms don't need circulation right?

Somebody will do something stupid with this, and get their model hurt. I think showing this on the internet is very reckless.
