SALICYLIC ACID has kept my pores cleaned out. I use Salicylic Acid 2% Anhydrous Serum (Ordinary's gentle formula for us dry skin gals - Ordinary does have a version without anhydrous for normal/oily skin) and occasionally the Ordinary Salicylic Masque. My RETIN A also helps to keep my pores cleaned out.

I had the hydrafacial at a spa and they even did the manual extraction on my nose. My face look fresh and my pores are clean and neat until the night. The next day I’m back to my previous skin. Hydrofacial and extracting did nothing to my face. Plus they cost a lot.

A spironolactone prescription (a cheap water pill from my dermatologist) worked best for me--a long term solution. I've had congested pores I could "empty" daily for as long as I can remember due to my oily skin. With this prescription, my skin isn't oily anymore, and I have very few congested pores, no blackheads. Before that I was using The Cetaphil Pro Dermacontrol Purifying Clay Mask, and that made my pores look a lot better after using, but of course the sebaceous glands would fill right up again, just like with irritating pore strips or squeezing.

For those of us who have never had pore issues & have only started having them appear larger due to collagen loss I am assuming the only reduction method is add collagen back to your diet. What about adding progesterone & estrogen in natural forms or will the collagen powder work the magic?

It sounds weird.... but a tongue scraper works amazing.. I use it sometimes justr make sure its clean soap at least alcohol preferred .. best results like with most thingfs clean skin, open pores (after a showrer basically lol) I alwaus make sure I use a smooth facial cleaner for a obvious reasons plus as a lubrication for the tool... hold the tool so its flat to the skin (dont make like a carving angle) apply light pressure ...if your creating red marks either your face is too dry or your apply ing way too much pressure... dont use this on difficult or delicate areas such as under the eyes the creves of nose etc you know what they are... I have natrualy oily t-zone and doing this 2-3x seems to decrease most other conditons that occur naturally and when they do not as severe.

Use common sense if tried. less is more and tharts with just about most everything in life.
