My pores are disgustingly large. I'm 57 and when I look in the mirror they're looking back at me. I never knew that with oily skin you should moisturize. You gave a great amount of tips for me to improve me skin. Thanks for your informative video.

Everything you’ve stated matches my own experiences! Tretinoin + sunscreen absolutely changed my skin (include pore size) for the better. After this, like you mentioned, in-office chemical lasers did another round of amazing benefits (including pore size) as I’ve gotten older. Personally, I had Clear & Brilliant instead of Fraxel (since I have melasma).

AHA/BHA was also beneficial with the caveat that I only chemically exfoliate 1x/week and my pore size looked the best 1-2 days after. Niacinamide (I used LRP double repair) also helped but probably the least out of the ones listed). The idea to keep the skin hydrated and plump whilst maintaining a balance of reducing congestion (quite a learning curve! I think this is the point where people like to over-exfoliate!). Great tips!

I feel like salicylic acid made my pores worse. I think my skin doesn’t like any harsh things. Bc I got big deep scars

I love the LA Roche 70spf cream... works like a gem..naturium niacinimide is great too light and dewy. For me after the 70spf I blot my paraben toxin free $3 baby powder from Target. It has a tender white cast that I blot and ad some color here and there...but it keeps my pores very minimal all day. My skin is Caucasian. However, it may be possible to add color powders over the baby powder maybe 🤔

I am 26 y/o. I have open pores on my nose. I didn't have acne on my nose, nor any blackheads. But still i have open pores. I don't have any skincare routine. Just wash my face with a salicylic acid facewash. So my question is, can it be because of skin ageing?

The Cetaphil Gentle Clear Moisturizer does not contain 0.05% salicylic acid, it contains 0.5%.

Could you advise on steps to apply skin care products for pore minimize?
For morning and night time.. etc,
For example, moisturizer and sunscreen which one should apply first?
And, what going on if we use toner contains AHA/BHA, then we use serum with containing Niacinamide, then with cream with containing Niacianamide?

I am 67. I had acne for years which has cleared up but now I have many open pores. I use BHA every day and retinol (over the counter) at night. What else could I do to improve my skin? Thank you.

I recently started having eczema on my face (I’m 44 and think it’s hormonal). I read that I shouldn’t use retinols as it can cause further breakdown of the skin barrier. I’ve been using Tretinoin and salicylic acid for a few years and really don’t want to stop. Is there anything I could add to my routine to help my skin not freak out?

I’m confused about steaming because I was going to a skin spa that is in the dermatologist office and they always steamed and then did extractions for congestion and pores. My skin was always really good and the esthetician said with oily skin it’s sometimes necessary because oily skin is a bit thicker. My skin was glowing and clear. I see a lot of things saying not to steam but it’s like the only thing that I’ve been able to see results from.
I used Paula’s Choice BHA for 2 years and never saw any improvement in clogged pores and texture.
