Great summary Jared of why we need to follow the prophet. God can bypass centuries of research by one simple revelation, hence we don’t need to know the ins and outs of everything to know something is correct or true. However, learning is a virtue if we acknowledge the hand and ways of God, who is in and through all things by the power of his spirit.

At the end Jsred you mentioned whether we might have other Adamic words. For people my age and slightly younger certain words we used in the Endowment session were pure Adamic but over the years they have been replaced with words that are in the current language of the patrons attending. Of course here I can not mention them, the words that is.

I did come across a doco on the neanderthals and it was believed they are actual ancestors who lived a long time and having lived a long time they also developed excessive boney protrubiences. The foreheads and brows and large facial features were believed to have developed over the many hundreds of years of life. Today we know at least two things get larger as we grow old. Our feet and noses and to think if we were to live hundreds of years we'd also look like neanderthals.

One of the first big beliefs that science eventually was able to learn about was the idea that the earth is flat. When I was a kid a common practice was to quickly put some kind of fat on burns until scientists discovered that fats held the heat in the tissue allowing the burn to go deeper causing greater damage and worsening the wounds. I suffered from having butter put on a burn from hot liquid. It's our understanding of Gods laws that are evolving.

There’s a quote by Orson Pratt in the Journal of Discourses where he says that the Adamic name for angels is “Anglo-man.” The discourse is titled “The Holy Spirit and the Godhead.” The specific paragraph he says this in is on page 342 of the second volume.

The Churches doctrinal stance on evolution (as pertaining to evolving from monkeys, because evolution does exist, we do change and things change etc, but we did not evolve from monkeys). Is that we did not evolve from monkeys. Thats all they have really released.

Why does everyone assume that the matter that was organized into the earth didn’t exist in some other form beforehand? What life populated it? Was it destroyed? (Disorganized) We don’t have all of the answers - yet.

I’m in med school and graduated from college with the Biological degree. This was a question I dwelt on for a year. The Evidence is the evidence – and the evidence for the theory is there. The theory makes sense from a scientific perspective. And as President Nelson said all truth, whether it comes from the church or from a lab comes from God.
In my opinion, natural selection was allowed to happen on the Earth, but not in the garden of Eden. The questions surrounding pre-Adam humanoids is only something you can speculate about. The evidence is there that they existed, my guess Is that they simply did not have the spirit of man yet. Although they may have had advanced toolmaking capabilities.
I went to the temple for a year with this question in my heart. After watching the creation story so many times the answer finally came to me strongly that the It is not for me to put the Lord in a box and tell him how he is to create. When I accepted that fact, I had a lot more peace about it. We should be careful to assume we have all the requisite knowledge Both spiritually and scientifically.

Before we were born on earth, we were spirit children of heavenly parents, with bodies in their image. God directed the creation of Adam and Eve and placed their spirits in their bodies. We are all descendants of Adam and Eve, our first parents, who were created in God’s image. There were no spirit children of Heavenly Father on the earth before Adam and Eve were created. In addition, “for a time they lived alone in a paradisiacal setting where there was neither human death nor future family.” They fell from that state, and this Fall was an essential part of Heavenly Father’s plan for us to become like Him.
