Ninja Nerds!

In this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will be presenting on the autoregulation of the kidney. We will be describing the fascinating functions of the kidney including its own intrinsic ability to control the blood pressure through several mechanisms. We will begin our discussion on a couple of ways our kidneys are able to accomplish this through the tubuloglomerular feedback mechanism, and the myogenic mechanism. We will then be transitioning into a major mechanism known as the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone-ADH-System (RAAAS). We hope you enjoy this lecture and be sure to support us below!

I seriously appreciate how thoroughly you break everything down. The little reminders of the factors that effect BP and then relating that to kidney function was huge for me. One of the ways we are able to learn new information is by connecting it to knowledge we already have, so the fact that you took the time to point that out speaks volumes about the kind of teacher you are.

Amazing! The Pearson text book didn’t even explain well for the relationship between SNS and GFR, this guy is amazing! He explained the context so well! Thank you so much!
