the girls are not ok

i think the girls need help
Whether its endometriosis, PCOS, fibroids, infertility, chronic fatigue, IBS, chronic pain, constipation, or ‘hot girl stomach issues’ - it seems like everyone is suffering from some kind of debilitating health issue these days. And it makes me wonder… wtf is actually going on? Why are the girls suffering? So I began looking into it. And what I found made me mad. If its not endocrine disrupting chemicals in our ‘self care’ products (what an oxymoron), it’s toxic tampons laced with heavy metals, or ‘0 calorie’ diet culture processed food items instead of nourishment. Our hormones are out of balance, our digestive systems are a mess, our reproductive systems are struggling, and I’m not surprised. Honestly girls, we deserve better.

I always ask myself if this really spiked out of no where or if we just didn’t have phones to see how many people suffered just like we did

Found out my debilitating periods were actually endometriosis... A lot of us are gaslit into accepting that the pain is just normal and to suck it up and go to work/school.

Maybe I’m too old, or maybe I’m just too normal - but when I feel pain or feel devastated the last thing that comes to my mind is filming myself…

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 20. In 2018, my husband and I tried for a baby and I had a miscarriage the following year. I was 28. We still kept trying though. I even had myself checked and the doctors said my eggs weren’t the optimal size. They gave me a prescription to help get them to the right size but still no luck. We decided to keep trying until I turned 35 and if nothing happens then we’ll still have each other. In January 2023, I changed my diet and became more active. No more processed food. Hardly any sweets. No junk food. No sodas. My periods started coming regularly but we already made peace that we were never getting pregnant. Then in September that same year, I had a positive pregnancy test! We were so fearful that I would miscarry again. Our baby is now 7 months old ❤

2:16 allot of these ailments weren’t exactly uncommon, however it wasn’t socially acceptable to discuss, and often the women weren’t labelled as sick or having chronic conditions, they were labelled as being overly dramatic, neurotic, or crazy.

i’m so tired of being prescribed birth control for every single issue. Painful periods? Pill. Depression? Pill. Hormonal imbalance? Pill. Acne? Pill. Hair loss? Pill.

like no, sorry, i don’t want it! i just want to get to the ROOT of my problem!

Let’s not forget about PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder). I was never told about this in sex ed. I thought it was normal to have suicidal thoughts amongst other symptoms every month and then just bounce right back when I get my period. It’s like having werewolf syndrome!

Have people stopped teaching kids “you are what you eat”?? That’s all I heard growing up in school, and it is something I’ve thought about literally every day for my whole life, every time I go to eat something. And it stops me from eating garbage 9/10 times.

Reminder to make sure to also check your home for mold and regularly clean dust. Even if you dont get allergies often or at all, mold can cause or contribute to these things especially depression, headaches, sinus problems, brain fog. Mold toxicity is rare but underdiagnosed. Im not a doctor of any kind but ive been living in poorly insulated homes my whole life and the effect mold has on my health is like night and day. Merry christmas all and take care of yourselves :)

I am 100% confident in saying that the internet has caused so much anxiety and depression.
I'm 20, and all the people around me seem to be quietly depressed. Doesn't help that almost everybody has a phone addiction. It's so common, it's normal!

I think I suffered from half of the things you listed in my twenties. It takes a lot of trial and error, multiple doc visits to figure out what the issue was, because, tbh, nobody cares. You have to care for yourself and be that annyoing paitent who keeps asking questions, tries elimination diets etc. I am in my 40s now and I think I am finally ok.

I'm so glad someone's finally addressing this. So many women are gaslit into believing that they're being dramatic and that the pain they experience (for example their period) is normal. ANY amount of pain you feel on your period in not normal, and birth control should not be the solution.

i’m 20. moving from my home country, brazil, to the US for college and eating from dinning halls DESTROYED my intestines, my digestive fauna and anything there was to mess up. i had to cut gluten and dairy for 5 months and take multiple supplements (i was treated by a brazilian doctor🙌) in order to heal my digestive system and stop the pain. i still live in the US but i cook my own food and never had any problems. i am genuinely scared of what/how they cook food in the US. no matter how fancy the restaurants, the food always destroys me. be careful with what you eat out there

Food is not as nutritious as soil isn't as quality, micro plastics, overconsumption of convenient processed foods, sedentary lifestyles, stress, anxiety, social media, etc. It's difficult to know where to start to improve, but just small changes and you build momentum.

As a sufferer from endometriosis, I appreciate the girls who film their reality. This is a condition that is still being misdiagnosed & under treated. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. It's mentally exhausting to always have to overexplain to people the amount of pain I am in. I hope that one day, there will be more understanding about the condition, to help other women who have it to feel seen as well🥰. Very good video btw💕

Thank you Stephanie for addressing the toxins in MAJORITY of these products directly marketed towards women. Young and old are being marketed to hate themselves and then here comes the holy grail product. It’s such a sham and I’m happy I’ve taken a step back from beauty standards and the pain of maintenance
