Kenya President Says Africa Presidents wont Be Summoned Like Kids By World Leaders Anymore

Kenyan President William Ruto recently made a bold statement about the respect that African leaders deserve on the world stage. William Ruto declared that the days of summoning African leaders like children are over. Speaking with Mo Ibrahim at 2023 IGW African Leadership Ceremony, President Ruto declared that African presidents would no longer tolerate being treated like children by world leaders. As a fellow East African, I am so proud of how President Ruto has represented the continent and especially Kenya at the Paris Summit this year by putting a well thought-out propositions to restructure the current way in which Africans pay back the money they have borrowed. We pay 8 times more on average than countries in other continents. It was so bold and courageous on how he challenged both the Private sector investors and bring attention to the unfair treatment that Africans face when repaying their debt than the rest of the World.
