This wasn’t just Aragorn or even Gondor and Rohan bowing. It was the free world of men, elves, dwarfs and everyone paying homage to the race of Hobbits for the role they played and the sacrifices they made so that the world could live in peace. Love the soundtrack when everyone bows

The look on Lord Elrond’s face when he lets Arwen is a feat of acting in itself. Love, fear, vulnerability. A father letting his child go to do something he doesn’t fully approve of but knows it will make her happy. He’s trying to hard to be a good father when every Elfish cell in his body is telling him it’s the wrong thing to do. Awesome. I love it.

Aragorn's greatest quality has always been his humility and wisdom.

That look of pain on Elrond's face as he tells Arwen to go to go to Aragorn is such a great bit of acting. It's so easy to miss, but it tells so much. He is giving up his own happiness for the happiness of his daughter. For he will live forever without her, so that she may live the rest of her days with her love.

For such a simple line, and that beautiful swell in the music, it's unbelievably powerful.

In Tolkien's canon, Merry and Pippin would come back to Minas Tirith to live out their last days. As an honour for their part to play in War of the Ring, they were buried beside King Elessar (Aragorn).
