Ghana confirms first cases of deadly Marburg virus

In Ghana, two cases have been confirmed of the highly infectious Marburg virus.
The official confirmation came Sunday,... after two people who tested positive for the virus died earlier this month.
Ghana Health Services have said they are working to reduce the spread of the virus by isolating those known to have had contact.
The confirmation makes this the second such outbreak in West Africa,... with the first occurring last year in Guinea.
The World Health Organization say fatality rates for the virus have varied from 24-percent to 88-percent in previous outbreaks.
The virus is transmitted to people from fruit bats,... spreading among humans through contact with bodily fluids.
