London Bridge Walk Through History

London Bridge is where London all began after the Romans arrived and set up Londinium. In this walking tour Joolz takes you to The George Inn where William Shakespeare and Charles Dickens drank and The Tabard where Chaucer started his pilgrimage for the Canturbury tales.
Then walk over London Bridge which is rich with history and past the monument to the great fire of London. See where the old London bridge came ashore at St Magnus the Martyr and then bend your steps past Old Billingsgate fish market and up to St Olaves where Samuel Pepys is buried with the first victims of the plague.
Then over to London's oldest church All Hallows By The Tower where Richard the Lionheart's heart is buried and see a 2nd century Roman pavement! Finishing off with a pint at The Hung Drawn and Quartered!

Don't forget to my friend's channel, WeirdSide where I have an interview ! Thanks for your help, Kai!!

I've visited London three times by now and there never seems to be enough time to see everything. It's always: "This goes on the list for next time..." And now, thanks to you and these amazing videos, there's even more to see. Thanks!

Great video Joolz, It's amazing how much more history there is that is normally overlooked.

Joolz you are awesome! I'm a history student studying in London and have always been fascinated by quirky history which mostly goes unseen or heard of by people! Your videos always make me smile and I get super excited when I see something new on here to then go and explore in the city!!
Keep up the awesome work!

anything Saxon gets my attention. Many thanks for this video. London is obviously ancient - but most is built after the Great Fire. Its those hidden older bits that are rather exciting

Thank you very much for taking me down memory lane. Such excellent work. I was born in London 1961, as were mother& my grandparents. I can remember my grandmother singing all those lovely old songs. My mother and her had to spend time in the underground during the war
I was born in the borough of hackney, Stamford hill. Bethune rd, it is where my parents lived when they first married, as they worked in Golders Green.
In 1962 they moved to Dunstable. Always in London until recently.
I will see what I can do about a donation.
Regards
Julie Harnett

I'm catching up on the oldies! This was an excellent walk round all the sometimes gruesome but fascinating streets - loved the last bit with the Roman paving. As you say "touching history". On my bucket list!

This was the first Joolz Guides video I saw and I went to see the Roman timbers after climbing the Monument and stopping by All Hallows by the Tower on the very day I arrived. I love London so much! Hello from Costa Rica, Joolz. Hope you come to visit us some day! ;D

As usual - I enjoyed this. Makes me want to visit London. Meanwhile, I suppose I’ll just sip a cold Bass beer. Cheers.

Love all your London videos. I visited London, Manchester and Liverpool in September 2019. I walked across London Bridge both ways on a gray, overcast and windy day. Very chilly and windy on that bridge but what a magnificent view! Luckily there is a very nice coffee shop at the foot of the bridge.

As an Englishman with many hundreds of years of traceable ancestry from the West Country, I'm enjoying your videos of our capital city. I really should visit London more often. Only been about 15 or so times and there's much more to it than meets the eye.

When the old London bridge was shipped over to Arizona it was shipped block by block. All pieces was numbered and was put back together exactly as it was in London. You can still see the numbers on the blocks.
