I’m looking forward to a day when instead of discussing next generation nuclear reactors, we can discuss the nth generation nuclear reactors, what advances they will bring, and how soon they will be available. Imagine a thriving environment for nuclear energy research and development where new and improved reactors were being developed and approved every few years, and approval to install the latest off the shelf design took a mere month. Educating children and young people may not be your bailiwick until you realize that a lot of those children will grow up to be literal and figurative roadblocks to your dreams of a glorious future for intelligent life.

@robertbhayes3059 id like your thoughts on the Soviet gen 3 graphite moderated reactor design called the mker. It had several changes from the prior rbmk such as hexagonal graphite stacks which reportedly fixed the positive void coefficient problem among other safety improvements making it safer on paper
