WHO: Ebola outbreak response in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

On the 24th August the World Health Organization was notified of a further outbreak of the Ebola virus which had been detected in an extremely remote area of the Equateur Province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The film tells how the first teams coordinated by the Ministry of Health and WHO arrived in the affected area. This outbreak is the country's seventh since the Ebola Zaire virus emerged there in an area bordered by the Ebola River.

Excellent video. As recently informed, to note that the Congolese virologist Doctor Muyembe has done great work in the DRC for the Ebola project and he is now in West Africa helping with the outbreak. WHO I encourage you to also promote the excellent work done by Congolese doctors in this issue.

(I've sent this comment to the CDC and now I'm sending it to WHO. If you are a nurse or doctor, advise your colleagues of these recommendations.)The hospital boards are notoriously slow to act. CDC or WHO simply must put out a safety video for healthcare professionals on how to properly handle these cases. Biosafety level 3 or 4.Once nurses and doctors see what is needed, they can point it out to the board of directors, so they can get the proper suiting and disposal gear. The video must include how to properly set up a room for the patients.  Mandatory disinfecting/masks for patients entering the ER or admittance. Understaffed hospitals need special attention from you guys. Thats where it will spread from without a doubt.  Help them with a video. It will be the greatest resource.
