just gunna make a note here: this glitch will always work, they are no longer patching the game, and have not touched anything that affects enemy behavior, if you cant get it to work, then you are doing it wrong.

For everyone sayin this doesnt work... i thought the same thing but i found the trick. When u turn around to run back towards the doorway, MAKE SURE YOU REALLY HUG THE WALL TO THE LEFT AS U RUN. Best thing to do is kind of hold your analog diagnal towards the wall. And also dont try to outrun him too fast. Sprint like 75% of the way to the door then just let go of the run button but continue onward just as you did while running but just walk. Then when he gets u w the flames just turn ur camera around and Voi La! Works 100% of the time. Figured instead of replying to everyone individually id just throw a comment in for everyone.

Found out if you kick the ladder down by the bonfire and keep respawning the enemies on the bridge and get the dragon to kill them that's 555 souls for you if you're a new player starting off.

June 23 2019, still works. Go with Goose's advice, turn your camera around when you get hit with the fire the second time running away.

If this glitch isn't working for you, here's something you might want to try:
DO NOT start running away immediately after you shoot the arrow. Instead, try to run the moment you arrow hits the dragon, so that the dragon will have already entered the animation where it jumps down before you start running. Apparently, the dragon has to jump down before breathing fire for the glitch to work, it doesn't work the other way around. I was running too early, and in 50+ attempts the glitch never worked, because the dragon was breathing fire BEFORE jumping down on the bridge, so it would teleport back on top of the gate when I moved the camera around. Only took me 3 attempts after I tried this method.

Still works as of 9 July 2022 on Xbox. As soon as the flame hits you just turn camera towards where is supposed to fall off. Easy.

July 2020- still works! But don't worry if the souls don't apply right away.. give it a minute or 2 and you'll get the souls. Thanks for the vid! :)

August 2023, Remastered version - can't get it to work.

Have managed it several times in the past, and it still does that glitchy thing where it teleports back to its perch and walks onto the bridge, but just can't get it to fall to its death.

Still works! Did it the first try! I'd tried 2 handing Black Knight Sword and the bow method. It always did the head lift heal or an attack out of pattern. Finally dead after 4 hours!

Just did this and it still works, tried with armor several times didn't work, took armor off and tried it and imagine that a dragon that couldn't fly

Tested this november 26 2020 without bow. It works just by running around. He will eventually fall.

Lol. It really works, just tried it out. The thing is to stand where you stand in the video and aim at the last sting of the dragon and run immediately after you have shot. Great thing. Thank you.

I'll be completely honest I tried everybody's suggestions and try 10 different ways to kill this bastard and eventually I just taunted him until he walk down the middle of the bridge and I ran up from under the stairs and hacked away at his feet...

I think I'm happier now by defeating him with bronze.

Update: before you cheese him shoot off his tail to get a weapon that doesnt require any stats and is one of the best starting weapons

As of June 2023 still works on Remake. Theyll probably never patch it at this point. However, it is extremely picky as to whether or not itll work right. Took me maybe 40 arrows to finally get him to fall off.
