Non-catholic in a Communion Line

The man white jarabia and a white nose mask majestically joined a communion line for Holy Communion.  Because he did not know how a communicant must appear before the Priest for communion, his actions made those present at that moment confused.

That priest committed a sin. The other parishioner showed better judgement than the priest did.

This is a horrible, horrible example of Eucharistic abuse. God forgive that priest.

Actually Non catholic cannot recieve Holy communion.
He have to be baptized and have the knowledge about the Holy eucharist

The priest should have withheld the Host and given him a blessing instead. The man is certainly not in a state to receive the Holy Host.

As an Orthodox Christian, we solved this problem before it ever became a problem by not innovating the irreverent practice of receiving the Eucharist in our hands.

Communion is not supposed to be given to non Catholics. Have mercy Jesus for all the sins committed against your precious Body and Blood.

I once attended an Orthodox Church in Nigeria and approached the priest serving the blood and the bread, I was respectfully told I could not partake of the body and the blood because I was Protestant. Very few members of the church took the holy gifts that day though….

Purely sacrilegious. A Catholic can't even receive communion if not in the state of grace.

The action of that priest in giving the Blessed Host, the true Body of Our Lord, to that man who was so graphically and obviously ignorant as to Who it was that he was receiving was a very grave and abominable sin. The man didn't even know that he was supposed to eat the Body of Our Lord. For a priest, who ought to know better than ordinary laymen, to do that is a crying shame. If children were observing this it would have given them a silent message to doubt the Real Presence of Christ in the Sacrament He instituted for us out of His infinite Love. May God forgive us sinners.

Well uh...that was scuffed. I hope he was taught the reality of the person he was holding and why he certainly should not have attempted to partake of it in his state.

I am a non Catholic and even I know that I can't receive communion, not even at a Lutheran church.
It is because it becomes the actual body of Christ and to be treated with respect.
But the reason is because yoy are not supposed to partake in a state of sin (even in protostant churches) and they don't want to risk your soul without you actually understanding.
I think it is awesome.
My only though is maybe this guy actually is Catholic but special. Because he struggled to much to figure out how to place his hands, etc.

May, I ask, when a person goes up to receive Holy Communion from the Priest, I as a Priest would
accept that person being a Roman Catholic.If the person is a non Catholic, that person must not
go up to receive Holy Communion.That is the answer.

Most of the time the people coming up to receive Communion who are not Catholic do so in good faith. They just don't know how it is done and of course they do not know that non-Catholics cannot receive. The priest didn't do too badly but he should have figured out that the young man was not a Catholic.

The Holy Host could even be misused like this.Priests should be very alert in these times. It is our Lord and God he holds in His hands.Lord have mercy.
