Possible torque discrepancy. I could be misinterpreting the manuals, but I believe both the 1996 service manual and the 2006 supplement service manual state 69 in-lb for the cylinder head cover bolts, not 106. The valve clearances shown in this video (.15-.24 and .10-.19) seem to match the documentation though.

Only a few things:

I would never recomend using kerosene on plastic's over time it will eventually wear it (and let's not talk about the soft one's). Best thing is water + soap and use it with a spray bottle, cleaning the surface of the head cover and the gaskeet side's.

When taking out the camshaft chain tensioner, don't forget to undo the under tensioner that is behind the exhaust (that you need to remove) under the top chain tensioner, otherwise you will find it hard to remove/install the camshaft's and the chain all toguether. It is supposed to be torqued at 15nm (1.5 kgf·m, 11 ft·lb) by service manual.

Also you should be wary of the camshaft chain tensioner since it will tell you about your camshaft chain life, your's seem's almost at it's limits since the camshaft tensioner went out quite more than 2/3. I would check/change the camshaft chain.

Last but not least, I thank your for the Excel page where I can add the max/min tolerance's values and the sizes of the shim's and gap's between camshaft and valve bucket's.

And alway's read the service manual, I love that it give's you a lot of information on how to do the maintenances.

hola tony, crees que existe la posibilidad de que instale una tapa de cilindro de kawasaki klx250 s en una moto kawasaki kl 250 d8? Cambiando todo completo.
Mi duda es si coincidiran los circuitos de refrigeracion y ademas los bulones
