It kills me that I have a shoe collection that just destroys my feet 😢
I try my best to go barefoot around the house and whenever I get the chance nowadays.
Certain Socks also prevent your feet from forming and maintaining proper curvature.

I had severe pain and calluses in the ball of my feet a few years back so I went to a podiatrist for help. Turned out I was placing my weight incorrectly when I walked, which caused pain and the pain in turn caused me to distribute my weight even more incorrectly to the smaller toes… The podiatrist wanted to introduce insoles but I believed I could correct my posture now that I knew what was wrong, and sure enough I only needed to consciously adjust my walking posture for a few months before everything was good again. These days I wear the same shoes favoured by nurses at hospitals who have to stand on their feet and walk a lot on the job, and my current pair of shoes are designed so that they still look quite nice while giving enough space for the toes to properly spread.

As a wider foot woman, Nike women’s shoes are simply offensive. They make me feel like some sort of big foot monster, never been able to fit a foot in those

This is why I like skateboarder shoes like Etnies or DC. Always felt like they were roomier and had cushion

Shoutout to skate shoe brands who do it right, DC, Etnies, and DVS come to mind first.
Also; shoutout to Footprint Insoles (FPinsoles) as well

I’m a CPed and wearing a shoe with a deep wide toe box and a met pad makes a drastic difference. So many folks wear incorrect shoe size. One of the reasons for bunions, hammer toes, neuromas, etc. New Balance all the way. They have a line of APMA approved footwear.

There needs to be "barefoot" shoes that are puddle safe, that look like normal shoes you can wear to work,
are made for people who just walk around or cross train, and are AFFORDABLE.

Not me expecting a Pedro Pascal colab about drop-zero shoes🥺

Altra makes natural foot shape shoes and with 0 drop. They fit great and have helped me maintain my toe health.

I hope this’ll be the standard and we have more available options in the future

After trial and error, I found out that wearing half a size, larger in shoe was more optimal for basketball, rather than wearing true to size due to the reason that my feet did not have room to spread fully ever since then I have never had any unnecessary aches or pains. Also, I’ve rolled my ankles less

I got lucky and found a pair of Merrell
barefoot shoes at Ross for $40. They are far better than any normal shoe I’ve worn. The wide toe box is the main difference I’ve never felt, it’s pretty nice. Zero drop feels great as well. You gotta get them tight around the front though since they are wider you don’t want them shifting around

Custom footware will change the world like cars and computers. Cobblers need a comeback.
