This video is about the final standings of the 2024 Paris Olympic medals tally / medals table / medal count.

2024 Paris Olympic Games has ended with United States (USA) being the overall winner in just the last moment. Women's basketball final took them there. China is 2nd & followed by Japan, Australia, France, Netherlands, Great Britain, South Korea & Italy. Pakistan finished above India with their gold. Philippines were impressive, Thailand, Indonesia & Singapore had decent performance too. Malaysia was bit disappointing & Vietnam finished medal less. Overall 91 teams were able to win at least a single medal.

Note: Since their National Olympic Committees have been banned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, approved individual Russian and Belarusian athletes have competed as Individual Neutral Athletes or Athletes Individuels Neutres (AIN). Despite having won 5 medals (Gold:1, Silver:3, Bronze:1) they were not included in official medal tables.

Many rich countries but never win in a single medal, like UAE, Saudi Arabia & Kuwait. Also populous countries like Nigeria, Vietnam, DRC, & Tanzania. 😢 India has more than 1Billion inhabitants but never win a gold medal. 😧

In Total there has been 30 Summer Olympics.
USA has participated in 29 of them and have Won 19 Summer Olympics.

USA = 19.(1 Country).
USSR = 6.(the Union of 15 Countries).

Great Britain = 1.(the Union of 4 Countries).

The whole process of judging the final winner in the Olympic Games is flawed. Essentially, the silver and bronze medals are pointless, except for those who have won them, although personally I wouldn’t take much pleasure in winning something that hasn’t had any bearing on the overall standing of my country.

I consider Britain to have come 3rd in these games because of their overall medal tally. I think it’s a far better metric than just considering gold medals as any worth. I think a fairer system would be to award points for each medal won.

3 points for gold, 2, and 1 for silver and bronze respectively. Add that total together and you get a much more accurate and balanced result. Britain would have finished lower than 3rd place but higher than 7th.
