Fawn crying for mother

This fawn was apparently born inside my neighbor's fenced garden, but when mom came back she forgot how to get inside. The little one cried for much of the afternoon, and after mom came back and failed to get him out again, I spent some time trying to get him/her out of there (not shown in video).

I just came from a video where a wild doe came running upon hearing a human baby cry only to realize it wasnt a fawn. I wanted to compare the sounds and its actually pretty close, the difference is a human baby's cry doesnt have that pause

Public Service Announcement: DO NOT ASSUME CRYING FAWNS ARE ABANDONED. Doe’s will leave their fawns and return for them every night when it’s safer. If you take a fawn, it’s mother will return to that spot for days looking for it. Odds are at the slightest noise or sight of any threat, the Doe bolted hoping the predator would follow her not her fawn. Fawns have no scent and if SILENT are pretty much safe. Does will frequently return, look for you, and when they see you see them, run, because they want to lead you away from her fawn. This is just nature’s instinct, and does not mean the fawn has been abandoned. Cheers!

Baby deer are hugging objects. The most lovable animals in the world besides wallabys.
Feel much better to hug than cats. Yet it's been 4 years since I've hugged any 😭
