Fawn Bleats After Being Rescued || ViralHog

"Soulshine Wildlife Center was contacted about a fawn who was found near its deceased mother on the side of the road. The video was taken once he was placed in the vehicle, and his bleats sounded so much like he was saying 'ma', I wanted to record it! Education is so important in this field and I enjoy showing people nature and what we experience as Wildlife Rehabilitators. The fawn, now called 'Nibbler', is in rehab with other orphaned fawns. He was quite thin at intake, but has a great appetite! He will be released back to the wild with the rest of the herd within the next couple of months!"

Before anyone else says again they stole the fawn, read the description which clearly states that the mother was dead. The fawn needed to be removed from the road as soon as possible or otherwise he would be exposed to further risks.

DISCLAIMER: do not take fawns away from the wild just because you see it laying alone in the grass. This one's mother was dead nearby which is why it was taken. Do not assume a fawn needs your help just because you find one laying alone. Mother deer temporarily leave their babies to hide all the time. Many people think they are rescuing deer in those cases when they are really stealing them.

I found a fawn under my deck a couple years ago. I didn't realize the mother left him/her there on purpose, but once I learned that mommas will find a safe place to deposit their young, I felt relieved, and honored. She came back a couple hours later to retrieve her package. What a rare thing.
