This movie looks so good. So happy they got the period costumes correct, and don't look like they went to the mall for prom gowns. (Cough, Cough, "Reign" Cough, Cough)

I loved you on Talking Tudors and I can relate to your obsession with Elizabeth. I’m so happy you have your own channel, Dr. Estelle!

As a straight 'disciple' of Dr David Starkey, a Tudor expert...I must express myself as a 'proper little Renaissance man' (his words, not mine!)...Lady Estelle!
You really get to the nub of the true history of the whole Reformation in England & France. Your brilliant contributions only add more to the debate which has raged for centuries over Henry VIII's six wives...& from a French perspective too!
You have a style all of your own in your 'broadcasts', madame...quite the fine lady of a royal court...full of intriguing insights, hidden meanings & individuality & enthusiasm.
If you had been at Greenwich Palace or Hampton Court...at that time...I can only imagine the influence you might have had on the King himself...let alone the male courtiers! Keep up the flag of historical research & vivat regina...Catherine, Anne or Jane...though Estelle might prefer to keep a distance...& keep that wonderful head!
(I hope you see my point!)

I have to say, they really dropped the ball on making Henry physically look as he was, rotting and monstrous. He's way too pretty. I'm excited to see what they do and how they spin her story with all the subtext we imagine. I do hope they fully capture the feel of what the terror of living in this time period, and especially his court, was actually like. I notice they like to explore the 'intrigue' in movies when it was more abject terror as his reign progressed.
I'm surprised there haven't been any straight horror movies as of yet, because there is plenty if horror to be explored for so many of the people crushed under his malignance. Henry quickly became a true monster. They need to show him as a monster. One day I hope they will.

As one of the first women to have been published in this time period in her own name. I’m glad Hollywood finally giving her a movie. I am so happy to see Jude Law playing Henry Viii because he just is approaching it with the dedication that the character needs, In this case, he’s playing more of a supporting role against his character’s queen.

The Tudor court was always a place of intrigue, so it makes a lot of sense that this would be a suspense film. As someone who has worked in Henrican Tudor clothing. I am planning on studying the clothing most carefully. I would definitely say they have the French hoods spot on perfect! I love to see that partlet that they show with the dark dress a bit more.

I struggle to remember dates and years. I tend to think the most important question you can ask when studying history (any part of it) is "Why? Why did this happen? Why did this person take this action or fail to take another?" WHY is so much more important and interesting than *what year*. Please don't misunderstand; having a sense of the timeline is important, but perhaps remembering the exact year something took place is not as critical as knowing why things happened as they did.

Looks as though the Kingdom was a mess.

She doesn’t look like Catherine at all.. If it’s not realistic, then it’s really hard to enjoy.
