I think you may have bought scales for a different brand main unit. I have the same main unit but bought a 400mm scale from a different seller as that length wasn't available from the one selling this unit (and two shorter scales). The 400mm scale which didn't work with the main unit had other pins in the plug connected, than the ones bought from the same sellar as sold the main unit. Also, i had that red plastic thingy that yours has, with a sticker saying "remove before use".

Same one I ordered, took 2 weeks for the readout to arrive, lovely. Took another 3 :1/2 weeks for the scales to arrive. fitted it all up,
the unit was flashing all over the place & a high pitch alarm bell going off! Got hold of Banggood, and having to upload a video/ pictures of postage over the next 2weeks. A week later they refunded me the purchase price and never asked for the goods to be returned, I threw the unit in the bin and purchased a M DRO, put it all together and works great.

Banggood is all good until something goes wrong then they drag you along telling you what you want to hear. In the end paypal will be your saving grace. They even shut down my account after I successfully claimed against them. Worst customer support I have ever experienced.

Buying online really is a double edged sword, you save money, but returning goods or talking to customer support who don't understand English is absolute torture, good luck Cliff, it will get sorted !

That's a bummer there Cliff . welcome back to my world having to use the dial graduations ! They will probably send you a replacement but every time something from those places shits itself it's nothing but a massive pain in the ass . One day i will fit dro's to my gear but i will get the stuff from a local supplier that carries stock ( and get shafted by the extra cost ! ) . Hopefully it all works out . Cheers .

Hi Cliff, bad karma. Could be a dead display but possibly a pinout problem. Try the BG display on the mill scales. If no joy then I expect the display is cactus. Doing a video is the right move. Good luck. Cheers Rob.

Maybe this is worth trying. Plug the mill dro connector into new display unit to see if it reads? If no read then display maybe faulty. Whether read or no read, open the mill cable & note the. wires & pins, open new scale connector & see if you can set to same as mill dro cable. Another possibility is that there may be a setting on the new display unit that needs changing for the new scales. Super frustrating to have such issues, but often some simple detective work can lead to a solution. Good luck!

Yep sometimes dealing with these places goes real well but unfortunately sometimes ( not often I admit ) its a pain in the arse. I am in the market for a DRO too so I'm interested to see how you get on.

pin outs are not the same from company to company is most likely just the pins I had 2 different company products and had to change the pin wiring in the scales

Try switching to ABS on your DRO its in INC, not sure if that makes a difference, your other DRO is in ABS mode.
I have the same DRO, came with a bad board, one of the numbers on the Y axis was burnt out, but they sent me a new board. I hope your users manual is better than mine. Good Luck!

That's a shame it looks like a nice piece of kit as well. Hope they rectify the problem for you. Tony

Hi Cliff, shame about the DRO/Scales. I bought mine from Aliexpress and its worked flawlessly. Hope you some some where with Banggood.

Cliff I an wondering if the scales are not matched to the monitor as they came out separately, it is possible these scale are different. I believe there is a number on the scale which has to be matched to the monitor in the set up. I am sure I read this in the manual somewhere, but I didn't have to do it myself and the scales and monitor were matched.

Now I can't be sure this is the problem, but I would check first as it may save you the hales of having to send back the monitor.

Also if the scales are to long they can be cut down to size with extreme care.

Looking forward to a positive outcome to this tale. Ironically I bought what looks to be the same DRO and scales, this was last year and I've not got round to testing them as yet (rush job of course lol). I'll be testing it tomorrow after seeing this, good luck Cliff hope it's sorted promptly.

Good video Cliff, mine is doing exactly the same thing, monitor not picking anything up from the scales.

I had given up on a Dro for my mill . It looked like one would cost about$1, 200 US. I looked at the Bandgood site and they are unbelievably less costly. Not certain what I should do. I am lucky if I can get my tolerances down to 1/4 inch anyhow so maybe I can life without it.
