✨🎀 10 Kawaii Fashion Staples 🎀✨

There are certain basics that just make your wardrobe feel more complete. However, your average outfit building guide does not give an alternative fashion lover any clues as to what "basics" to buy for their own closet. What are kawaii "basics" anyway? These are 10 items that I find myself using again and again - and I think the reasons behind this can give us some clues as to what makes a good investment piece for your own wardrobes. I think any piece you feel compelled to wear over and over again is a good buy no matter what price, and understanding what kinds of basics you gravitate towards will give you a better idea of what kinds of pieces you should be adding to your closet in the future.

tips:
- make sure they're clothing items you'll get good use out of!
- try thrifting to find them in affordable, sustainable ways
- you can make them by hand if you want/can

1. plain solid colour bottom in signature colour (e.g pants or skirt - tennis/pleated skirts especially popular)
2. statement print bottom (e.g pants/jeans or skirt)
3. decorative petticoat (in kawaii fashion, , they are often worn as skirts esp if they're pastel colours)
4. basic top, such as a plain white shirt (you can make it more kawaii e.g fluffier materials)
5. statement decorative/print top
6. fluffy jacket
7. decorated denim jacket
8. casual jacket in solid signature colour
9. slip dress, especially vintage slips
10. plain coloured dress in signature colour
