3 Tests That Predict Diabetes: Don't Wait Until it's Too Late

Pre-Diabetes and Insulin Resistance damage your body. Waiting until you have full-blown T2DM to correct the underlying problem is very poor practice. Use these 3 tests that predict diabetes to prevent years of damage to your Brain, Heart and Kidneys.

People become overly concerned with testing such things as RBC-Mg, MTHFR genes and salivary cortisol levels. While these tests may be useful, correcting all these things matters very little if your serum glucose and insulin levels are chronically elevated.

Years of damage can be done by pre-diabetes and insulin resistance before the average doctor catches it. Don't let this happen to you. Catch these red flags as early as possible and prevent years of damage!

These three tests can give you a heads up years before you actually develop type two diabetes. Put them to good use...

When I saw my endocrinologist yesterday, I asked her to do an insulin or insulin resistance test and she refused. I asked why not, and she said we already know that I’m insulin resistant because I’m diabetic. Regarding Glimeperide, I asked about the problem of worsening my insulin resistance and how the ketogenic diet makes that unnecessary. She replied that she doesn’t study the Keto diet. How can you be a (young) endocrinologist these days and know nothing about the effects of Keto??

I have diabetic family members, so testing is just something we do now and then .. and after watching this video.. I caught my blood sugar at 140 after a meal with bread, in the past, I have eaten pecan pie, and icecream .. and only hit 127.
This video very likely saved me from becoming a full blown type 2 diabetic.

My children (10/9 yrs old) their glucose went up to 360's, 30 mins after a bowl of coco puffs 😳🥺
We no longer keep sugar foods in the house. But I know they get junk at school. My daughter is showing awful IR symptoms and we're going low carb for 30 days and if her symptoms go away she will continue. But I want her tested. This is the info I needed. Thanks Doc

He talks about being one tenth of a point high; but NEVER even once mentions higher than what.

I have a doctors appointment next month to have these test done. I have been on the keto diet for some time now and have lost weight and get plenty of exercise. At 70 years of age I am a late starter but I feel so much better on this way of eating.

Wish my many drs would have informed me about these tests. After doing the keto diet since March 7, 2020 not loosing weight, and listing to you and Dr. Berg, I decided to take matters on my own and bought a glucose meter I realized that my blood sugars were quite high. I have been to several drs and no help so far. I watched your video last night in order to see a Functional dr and will make an appointment. I am also going to see an endocrinologist on the 20th- (I had to wait 4 months for an appointment) I am new in the Sugarland, TX area- it has been a nightmare to find a competent dr who actually care. I wish I lived close to you, Dr. Berry.

Thank you for sharing this really good advice. Why is it so difficult for the medical community to get on board with these basic cost effective tests?

Amazing information!! I so wish this information would be spread throughout the medical community, especially endocrinology and internal medicine. You are spot on with the "wait and see" attitude that most doctors and nurse practitioners take, because of the incomplete nutritional information being taught in medical schools across the country, as well as nurse practitioner programs. Thank you so much for putting out there specific test results to look for, and how to reverse the trend toward diabetes (and other diseases) in our bodies! So glad to have found your youtube site! Wishing you all the best, and will continue following your site with interest!

I’ve been carnivore for about six weeks and watching the glucose numbers drop is exciting. Having this daily information is essential! Finger sticks folding hurt at all. . “If it tastes sweet, don’t eat.”

Dr Berry, you have taught me so much about diabetes I am happy to teach you 1 thing. Switching between the US scale and the Canadian (Metric) is easy-peasy, just divide your number by 18 (or multiply our glucose numbers by 18). That was the only useful thing I learned from my Canadian (eat healthy whole grains) Dietitian. So 140 is 7.8.

In Canada, appropriate blood glucose levels for non Dianetics are between 4.0 (fasting) to 5.5 . Normal between 4.5 and 5.5. For people with diabetes the higher normal can be up to 8. After meals with medication.
Mine is usually 4.0 to 5.0. considered a bit low but I always ate once or twice per day and very close to the Keto diet. All natural foods 90% of the time. YES, I do have cake on my birthday!!!! 🎂🤪

My recent labwork showed FPG 94, A1C 5.9 up from 5.5 last year and Normal C-Peptide (3.0). Excellent Cholesterol which actually went down from last year. Have never had any glucose problems before. However, an Incidental Finding on an MRCP I have annually to monitor a small pancreatic cyst showed that I have Fatty liver (7%) and my ALT, AST and ALP are elevated. Wasn't expecting that! Was more worried about my cyst growing which it hasn't thankfully!
