The planets would remain in orbit around the black hole. The gravity well would not change except within the stars previous volume. There would be no more solar wind so the planets would change orbit slightly.

Governments should replace half of the Chemistry with space studies, because most of the chemistry is hypothetical and theoretical as well but the space is interesting.
