I'm a beginner at forex and I really like counter trend trading. Both T and CT are great but for some reason I can predict a counter trend most of the time and it works for me but for my friend it doesn't work for him.

I find there are counter trend patterns of price movement that are relatively consistent. Because these behaviors occur consistently with with clear measures of regularity I trade incorporate them into my daily trading strategies because “they work”. I don’t have a full explanation for why they work, but I know that they work.

I look at the market as opportunities. In an uptrend I will buy at the bottom of the range and sell at the top of the range.

Pullbacks are not really countertrend. Countertrend is going against both the short-term trend and long-term trend. Countertraders are basically "trend agnostics".

I use both. I trade pinbars on H4 and D1, looking for reversals (double top/bottom usually) and also continuation pinbars on a trend (just price breaking recent low/high, retrace and give me the pinbar). Really easy. Trading most important part is money and psychology managing. A system is just a way to organize your trades so you don't enter randomly on the markets.
