The problem I have with ROK isn’t the power creep necessarily. It’s that it takes months to years to max commanders, even if you do spend money. I have gold key commanders that aren’t even maxed yet, and I’ve been playing since October of 2018. It feels like you will be punished for investing into a commander that will become irrelevant faster than it took the max them.

what they need to do is make commanders with more unique abilities, so that they aren't simply stronger, but they work better in certain ways and worse in certain ways, this way there isn't simply a definite meta, but you can chose who you want to invest in.

For me, power creep truely took hold and began its rampage when Nevsky was released. He was just sooo much stronger than anything previous he could be used in every role. Ofc power creep was always there but i thought it was a lot more subtle than now. It was Nevsky that was harbinger of this stage where everything released afterwards either has to be at least equal to him or stronger or its automatically "trash"

If only they would differentiate gold sculpture requirements depending on the strength and novelty of commanders. I don't see how its reasonable that both sargon and liu che cost the same to max, same goes to all commanders.

It's hard to say which snowflake causes the avalanche, but so far, ROK has held it back better than some of its competitors. Take Evony as an example. I've played that for several years, starting as F2P, moving to low spending and then moderate. I'm back to F2P because I went through exactly what is explained here: unless you're a kraken, everytime I got close to the apple, it got pulled away. That happened twice and I knew I was the sucker, so no more spending on Evony. In the meantime, there are so many new subsystems (e.g. armor, then modified armor, then event armor, then modified event armor etc.), mini-events (which are all essentially RNG chance games) and up to 8 different P2W promotions at once that it is impossible even for experienced players to maintain. And that doesn't include the in-game ads that are constantly popping up at the worst moments (e.g., you're under attack or your bubble has dropped etc.) and you are forced to divert attention to MULTIPLE "skip, skip, skip" while alarms and red screens are blaring all to just play the game.
Anyone putting money into Evony in 2024 is a victim of Stockholm Syndrome.
If Lilith has any common, they would look into the insane power creep put into Evony by Top Games and do the opposite.

If Rok adds super power Powerful commanders then this game will become so pay 2 win that no f2p or low spender will want to continue and everyone will quit 😢😢

its a lose lose situation really

if they dont release commanders worth chasing frequent enough then players will get bored

if they release must have commanders too fast f2p/low spenders will get massively behind and discouraged

it really is a balance to keep as many happy as possible

All of this could be solved if they had commander and equipment resets without penalties. Even just once a year, like as part of the anniversary event, give players a chance to reallocate gold heads and dismantle legendary equipment.

I think a solution that would help with power creep is allowing players to reset their commanders at least twice a year.

One of the biggest problems with this game is that once you invest a gold head into a commander it’s gone. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve met players who end up quitting or restarting their accounts because of the gold heads they invested into commander they thought was going to be good. They could even limit this reset event to kvk 1 gold key commanders but at least players would be able to get their gold heads back and invest into the new commanders and they continue to play. However, this makes too much sense for Lilith and they wouldn’t go for it.

F2P beware of the fact that. Lilith is cutting ways of you getting free Gold heads. Just compare events and you will feel.

Dude this has been an S+ tier vid man! If they add the SoW with a new tier of commanders i think they should just release a wave of 2 new commanders for EVERY unit type at once instead of leaving inf waiting on cavs etc etc. Would spike the activity of players like crazy if everyone got some new commanders to mess

I think afther SoC they should add something new like a Season thats goes as follow

First fighting zone u can only use Kvk1 & Kvk2 - Commanders

2nd Zone u can use KvK 1 To SoC ~ Commanders

Kingsland ~ U can use all commanders + The new commanders like Season of Warfare
