If my older parents opted for assisted dying, which has to be self administered, I don't think I could bare it.

Spartans practiced euthanasia.
Why they did that?

Survival of the Fittest: Spartans believed only the strong could contribute to the city-state's survival, especially in a war-focused society.

Resource Allocation: Limited resources necessitated prioritizing those deemed capable of strengthening society.

Cultural Ideology: Spartan culture idealized physical strength, discipline, and military prowess, often at the expense of compassion for the vulnerable.

All sorts of safeguards needed to avoid coerced deaths.

The majority of the country were for the bill to pass so all the mp’s should have been for it too. They aren’t there to do what they want, they are there to do what we want… I’m glad it has been passed and obviously we’re going to have lots of people who say it is wrong, but I’m sure that we’ll have lots of rules to go through before the people who are applying for it will be allowed to do it… if people are mentally well and are without hope they should be allowed to do it rather than being in pain and discomfort in their last days

Brilliant, but I wish it was coming into force quicker - I've only got about 4 months before my cancer kills me in a very unpleasant way, and this bill will take much longer than that to be enacted. But at least others who come after me will have the option to choose....

I can understand people who are in favour of this but there must be very rigorous rules in place. A friend of mine was ill in hospital when Covid was at full force, she rang me terrified as the hospital she was at was trying to coerce her into signing a DNR, she went through hell but survived and was back to working 40 hrs a week after restrictions were lifted!

Keir Stalin voted for the assisted dying debate - removing the winter fuel payments for old people is also assisted death, so no conflict in interests there...

This will be implemented in many countries worldwide as the amount of people passing the age of 40 who are childless is rising quickly. There will be too many people with no one to look after them in senior years so will be considered a burden and why this suicide bill will be pushed more and more

This isn't assisted dying or assisted suicide, its assisted murder.

I just can’t support this. As I have concerns about possible future amendments like in Canada. Which now include incurable conditions. Disabilities and people with mental health issues are now at risk. I believe this bill was put forward with good intentions. However, there’s a risk of becoming a slippery slope to euthanasia.

Remember how empty that room was when the calls for the vax to be investegated?
Lord God have mercy on the elderly, the frail who can't work, the mentally ill and the other useless eaters.
What wicked day we live in.

I don’t understand why some people are hating on this bill, some have said “this would be horrible for the family” & “it’s not their choice”

Real quick, it takes into consideration the family’s opinions & also it is their choice so to speak as they have to be mentally able to request such a thing & it would have to go through the process.

If anyone wants to state other opinions there free to do so
