15 years as system administrator and main thing what i do (by time consumed) is explanation to users (and managers) what systems can and can't do; that systems whatever amount of money you paid for it never satisfy all your needs you had, have and will have in the future. systems typically specialized and rigid (more "enterprize-grade" - more rigid), so depending on how good you planed your demand that will be particularly that what you will get. for example, you will not be able to convince the processor unit to work faster because its end of fiscal year, what is a sensory surprise for majority non-IT guys 😀

I am focused on Linux based system administration notably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) & Ubuntu / Debian Linux. Could you kindly share your valuable experience in relation to Linux (Red Hat) system administration. I’m looking into a career change as I’m working 60-70 hours a week in construction, and I don’t feel like I want to work my life away…my biggest hobby has been video games/pc building. Very familiar with upgrades, fresh OS systems, troubleshooting, and even some C++ coding… with this skill set and obviously an associates degree or cert if needed, am I already on the right track?
