5_STIC PART 2: BEFORE STIC ACQUISITION

Before obtaining Spatiotemporal Image Correlation (STIC) volume datasets for the Fetal Intelligent Navigation Echocardiography (FINE) method, it is essential to enhance the overall sonographic image. This presentation reviews how this can be accomplished, and discusses the topics of region of interest, acquisition angle, and acquisition time.

FINE is a novel sonographic method to examine the fetal heart. This method automatically generates and displays nine standard fetal cardiac views simultaneously. It simplifies the fetal cardiac examination, shortens examination time, and reduces operator dependency. FINE has recently been shown to have high sensitivity (98%) and specificity (93%) for the detection of congenital heart disease.
