Entered the GFNY whichbis now an 82 miles course instead of 50 miles. Will be quite a big challenge. Excited about my absolute first cycling event at 62 years young.

For a guy working food deliveries on a $100 Walmart bike, your tips helped a lot to avoid pain, getting into correct ride position and riding for long. Thanks.

What I can add in: Check if your spare inner tube has the correct valve length.
After each event, I look through my list and write down what I missed and what I did bring but was useless. So the list gets better and better.

If you've got a bike computer, set it up to give you reminders to eat and drink at regular intervals. It's easy to forget when you're deep in the ride.

Doing my first ever sportive as I endeavour to be fit at 40 on 14th May - 42 miles. A bit nervous and my training has been interrupted by COVID but really excited. Tips have been really helpful and I think I've got everything covered.

My first event, and first group ride, will be this Sunday at the Five Boro Bike Tour in NYC. It's 40 miles and I typically do around 30. I'm trying to approach it as just another ride, but it will be crowded!

My first one is this weekend. The NYC 5 Boro Bike Tour. 40 miles through all 5 Boroughs of NYC car free. GCN should come do it one year.

Get your bicycle inspected by a qualified bicycle mechanic at least a week before your event as this will give you time to get any issues fixed and give you peace of mind that your bicycle is up for the event

I have a bike marathon on Sunday. 40miles. Not really my first time but definitely will be my best, especially since I won’t forget to bring my sports bra.

Signed up for my 1st 100 mile bike ride. In honor of the TDF, our little scruffy town, has the 'Tour de Rocky Top' Group Event. Very excited, and anxious to ride around the foothills of the Smokies with loads of cyclists
