The Russian Navy has for the first time tested the hypersonic missile "Zirkon" from a nuclear-powered submarine. The launch was carried out from the submarine "Severodvinsk", the Russian Defense Ministry said. With a speed of more than eight Machs, the missile surfaced from the water and flew to its target in the Barents Sea. The test was deemed successful.
