A category based around snowfall/snow quality would be pretty cool considering how important they are

Hey I gotta disagree with you on your employee score. Yellow Jackets make up like 2% of the employees at breck/key. The rest of us are pretty cool people who try to make your day at the mountain awsome. From the cooks, bar tenders to park rakers/builders and groomers. If it wasn't for the baddassses grooming the jumps and rail lines every night and all day the mountain wouldn't be so sick!

not to mention the night runs they have

Great review, Johnathan! I've been a keystone weekend-regular for a few years now and I couldn't agree more with all the points you made. My opinion is that Keystone is the resort you go to when riding is your main goal of the trip (same with Loveland & A-Basin as well). If you're trying to have food, night life and the full resort-town experience, I'd recommend Crested Butte or Breckenridge.
My biggest tip is to PACK STUFF FOR SANDWICHES and bring your own alcohol! You'll be amazed at how much you'll save only eating dinner each night. By all means, if you have it budgeted, go all out! Although, I believe the cafeterias/in-door bars will be close for the 20-21season.

Hoping Covid and a projected dry winter don't ruin our 2020-21ski season! Hope to see you all out there!

I don't live in Colorado anymore, so I'm going to blow up the secret Keystone goods.

1. WINDOWS hike run. When you exit the Gondola from the front of the mountain, proceed forwards like you are going to North Peak. Look all the way skiers left and you will see a catwalk heading into the woods. Gain as much speed as you can and head in there and bomb until you cannot anymore. This is the point where most riders drop down into the trees and ride the tracked out glades of the windows. When you run out of speed, unstrap and keep hiking on the catwalk. After 20 minutes or so, you will summit the hill, and be where the snowcat drops off. From there, you can drop in anywhere and usually get fresh tracks at any time because most people are too lazy to put in the short hike. Watch out for the 50'+ cliff band that runs underneath the Outpost Gondola.

2. North Peak Trees. From the lodge at the top of north peak, you will find a catwalk just to skiers right of it that again heads off into the woods. Take the catwalk for a few minutes and drop any line into the trees (skiers right) . This will drop you in the gully between the Outback and Northpeak. You can lap this all day and usually get fresh tracks on a pow day as well while everyone is riding the blown out mogul runs in the outback.

Enjoy!

Yo Johnathan! Mountain reviews are a great idea!! I loved going to Keystone when i lived in Colorado! Adding annual snowfall and snow quality would be a great addition to these reviews! Thanks for all your hard work and Go Pack! Lets beat those Bucs today!!

Did they remove the black mark from your pass?
If not, when will it get removed? if ever

Stop promoting keystone. I don’t want people coming there. I love how less busy it is than other places 🤣

You're going to hate it if the rumor of area 51 turning into a beginner green family area comes true. :(

Also tickets are close to 140-150 a day give or take depending on the day.

Love this series buddy. Keep it up.

I would love to see you do vail, copper and breck next. I am from Michigan so I love to see these types of videos before my trip out to summit county

Good review Johnathan. As someone who until very recently owned a condo in the village, I would bump up your lodging score. Before buying, we were visiting Keystone 8 times per year and renting everything from right in the village to the older part by Keystone Lodge. Many, many choices ranging from somewhat expensive all the way down to budget-friendly. Much, much cheaper than Breck or Beaver Creek / Vail. Even staying right next to the Gondola was affordable. I would also have to bump up your rating for beginner skiers/snowboarders. With SchoolMarm being around 3.5 miles long, it's the longest Green run in the country. However, I do agree that in some sections, it's not a true "green". I learned to ski on Schoolmarm so I'm a little biased probably. Definitely agree on your rating of the employees. They could be a LOT friendlier. Some act like they just hate being there.

I swear keystone is all for money now the employees I've been there twice now the first time there was 1 decent staff that told me to slow down at the end of the run 2 time I was there I got my pass taken for 2 seasons and I was going the same speed as Johnathan buckhouse my employee score without a doubt be like a frickin 0.5 and that only bc of the one guy that didn't do much except tell me to slow down a bit.

Just back from Keystone. I thought the greens they had were really good and fun. The schoolmarm is I think 3 miles long and I road it a few times. We spent most of the time on the first mountain doing the blues and greens there. I think for a beginner or novice they could have a great time just skiing on the greens on the first mountain. I skied the back country years ago and it was really fun and had some blacks that I was able to manage. The lodging for us was very budget friendly. About 120 bucks a night for a 1 br condo with a pullout couch at Lake Keystone condos.

im spoiled from timberline views when theres an inversion and youre above the clouds with distance volcanos popping above them. mount bachelor has super insane view though from the summit though on clear days...

A newbie that went to keystone in February, I love their long green runs, but I hates their long flat runs. I had to unstrap a good amount of time....still trying to get good. I would go back.

For people like me (Texas), if you are only going to ride 4 days on your vacation Keystone and Copper Mtn. both have passes you can buy pre-season for $248 for 4 tickets. That is insanely cheap compared to any of the other deals I have been able to find. The main key to scoring these passes is to shop early. They usually stop selling them before opening day.

Love the merch man, I am a blue-black slope skier. Have you done Echo Mountain? My favorite is Arapahoe Basin and probably Crested Butte. Keystone is definetly up there.
