That board is gorgeous! I've been thinking about picking it up, but I think I'd prefer Pax Pamir 2nd ed.

Haven't got mine yet but it looks worth the wait. I saw Drew demo a start of the game at Gencon and have read the rules so I think I am ready. Deregulation intrigues me and scares me. Hopefully you get to play it soon and maybe film some updates of your game progress, maybe at a con. Thanks for the look.

Probably can't really honestly judge it, but I'd the rulebook is mostly pretty alright. The game is just kind of dense. The rulebook does have a few weaknesses, the setup mainly.
There are definitely worse rulebooks. At the very least it is very readable, which I would say a lot of games in this genre/around this weight aren't.

And while it is not technically a wargame. I'd almost call it one cause it 100% comes from that design tradition
