I saw a TV commercial spot at the gym this afternoon, and I have to admit, I was truly surprised! Not only by the announcement of another POTA movie after ten long years, but also the incredibly detailed and realistic-looking CG apes. At first glance, I thought that it was all makeup with no CGI at all!

What I think this movie does well is provide decent character development for the ape characters. Something the Tim Burton remake simply couldn't do.

Here we have a primary ape character, Caesar, go through personal growth and development alongside the human characters. He's given legitimate reasons for disliking humans at the end and the audience can actually sympathise with him.

That's how you do it.

A great movie with good graphics, an interesting plot and a lot of meaning. That movie when it's really not a pity for a person, but for animals.

I feel the original Planet of the Apes movies had their moment and relevance in history but it is something that cannot be repeated or recreated.

I love this movie!! i really didnt want to watch this movie because i saw all previous planet of the apes movies which sucked so bad. so i waited for the blu ray release.(and blu ray is the best way to experience this movie.) i watched it today and its not only the best planet of the apes movie but probably the best movie of the year for me.
