This scene serves as a metaphor for life, each day you have to keep climbing to become a better version of yourself.

First you must start (climb and go higher), then take risks (jumping from one tree to another), and of course there will always be ups and downs throughout life (like the seasons, first comes the rain, then the sun), but eventually you'll reach the summit.

You know, before this movie came out, I was shaking my head in disappointment while saying: Planet of the apes doesn't need to be remade. The movies we already have are perfectly fine.
But then I went to watch this movie anyway and I changed my mind. While I still think that many of the reboots we have today aren't necessary and don't need to exist, this isn't one of them. This movie is worth watching and is a great addition to the Planet of the Apes series. This scene alone is enough to prove that.

You just have to feel bad for Will. His Dad's alzheimers returns, Caesar leaves him, and is responsible for the destruction of the world.
