There's no need to panic, PG doesn't mean that Shadow will dance after Maria's death.

Maria's death was censored in SA2 and all we see in Shadow the Hedgehog and X is seeing her fall.

A zoom on Shadow or a flash when she dies is enough.

The Sonic 3 movie can still be a dark one even if this is true that PG is the official rating. It mostly means that this movie won't be too dark.
This casting confirmation isn't too much of a surprise to me because some day after that other person said that he was told at CinemaCon that Keanu Reeves got cast in by Paramount as Movie Shadow's VA, I found a YouTube video that had Jason Griffith himself talking about how pleased he is that Keanu is getting his time to voice that Ultimate Lifeform hedgehog.

Honestly, anyone who thought (or thinks) this movie is going to be PG-13 is deluding themselves. It's not like a slow-mo shot of Maria falling to the ground with a bullet in her chest is necessary to tell Shadow's backstory faithfully. PG doesn't immediately guarantee that the entire movie will be fart jokes and Fortnite dances. You can easily have dark themes in a PG movie without crossing the line into PG-13.

They shouldv made 2 more sequels.
One that covers SA1 and the last SA2.
They couldv focused on the Chaos and Master Emeralds, the Chaos monster and Tikal and of course mix it with how the movie lore interpretates it.

Than conclude the franchise with SA2 as this would give Jim Carrey's Dr. Robotnik more breathing as well as Shadow is very much connected with him as Maria and Gerald are his blood family.

They couldv used the Knuckles series to cover SA1 as well but i havent seen it yet and as i have heard that doesnt seem to be the case which is a shame.

You can still do Shadow's backstory easily with PG so I'm not worried. As for length they have alot more to cover in this one compared to the last two especially if Rouge and Amy are indeed in the movie. So I will not be shocked at all if we get a 2 hour and 30 minute movie.

I'm thinking they'll probably show Maria's death, as it is an integral part to Shadow's backstory. I think the best way that they can show it is probably by taking the Spiderverse and Puss and Boots the Last Wish route in terms of maturity. I'm not looking for blood or anything like that. I just want to hear at least the Gunshot, and maybe her wounded and dying as she gives Shadow her promise. Or we don't see the bullet, but we do see her get shot and fall. There are a few ways that they can show it. Either way, I don't care. I'm just want to see this movie already.

To be honest, Ben the voice of sonic he said that this movie is special so I don’t think it’s gonna be a short movie so I think the movie is gonna be three hours and five minutes is my guess my second guess is two hours and 50 minutes I don’t know, but hopefully it’s a good link for us to chew on
