In this video we will study and explore the history of Naples, Campania, Italy. We will learn about the important moments in its' history and on the way discover everything from kings, wars, religion, evolution, historical figures and influential people who made their mark on history. Also, we will see other important factors that over time, changed the face of the Neapolitan region of Southern Italy.

We will take a look at Neapolis and its' Origins, the Duchy of Naples, the Norman Domain, the Kingdom of Naples and of Two Scilies, Masaniello and the Revolution, the 18th Century Borbonico and the Bourbons, and the many other people who occupied Naples including the Greeks, Romans, the unwelcome Byzantine domination, the Goths, Nolans, Vandals, Lombards, the Saracens, the Normans, and many more!

More research and more should be said how Italy was unified, Garibaldi and the north of Italy Piemonte, Lombardia attacked Naples without declaring war, gold and money was stolen from the city to be brought to the north, to this day the city is given very little financial aid compare to the other regions of Italy, there are a lot of issues that should be addressed but are ignored, I love Naples, was born there, more research I do, more I'm saddened at the cost and blood shed of its unification!!!

Visited there a number of times when I was in the Navy. A lot of the buildings look very familiar. I’ve heard the city has been cleaned up from what it was in the early 80’s when we were there, but at that time it was pretty dirty. Unlike anywhere I’d been in the U.S. at the time.
