With the news that Jagathy Sreekumar is returning to big screen after9 years, it was speculated that the versatile actor could be donning the roleof Vikram. Now it has been confirmed that the character played by the actor inthe last four films of the franchise in the popular investigative film series,will be returning for the fifth installment. The movie titled ‘CBI 5’ will bedirected by K Madhu. Given theactor's current health issues, which stem from a car accident in 2012, therehave been rumours about his participation in the film, which sees Mammoottyreprise his popular Sethurama Iyer role. The team plans to film Jagathy'sscenes at his home in Thiruvananthapuram after they figure out a method toinvolve Vikram in the tale. Filming is now underway in Kochi's Kakkanad. Megastar Mammootty who plays the character SethuramaIyer also joined the movie sets a few days back after completing the filming ofhis upcoming project Nanpakal NerathuMayakkam directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. The movie’s script is pennedby series regular S N Swamy. The movie will also mark the return of Mukesh andSai Kumar along with new cast members like Renji Panicker, Dileesh Pothan, RameshPisharody, Soubin Shahir, Malavika Menon and Asha Sarath. The film’s directorof photography will be handled by Akhil Geroge while the background score willbe composed by Jakes Bejoy. The film is produced by Swargachithra Appachanunder the banner of Swargachithra Films.
