Episode 69 being the Daemonculaba episode is absolutely cursed.

I think the reason the guardsmen step up so readily to destroy the Daemonculaba while the space marines start giving up is at least partially because it's the first time that space marines have been thus level of powerless since becoming Space Marines, whereas the guard are already put up against horrors they can't comprehend on a daily basis (if they survive that long)

FINALLY, I CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT THE FUCK THE DAEMONCULABA ARE

edit: i regret my decision

And I'd like to remind you all, as you're listening to the horror that is the daemonculaba is that it's Honsou who's doing this. Honsou, who not only allows defeated minions a second chance, doesn't kill for failures, is rather efficient, and for Iron Warrior rather pleasant, came up with this. What do you think he had to do to reach the conclusion that the Daemonculaba was the more efficient option?

The Daemonculaba are the Ixian axlotl "birthing tanks, " draped with whale guts and an entire factory's worth of lead pipe, splashed with hundreds gallons of blood and amniotic fluid, and, finallly, turned up to 11.

in vtm, Vampire: the Masquerade, there is a clan of vampires known as the tzimici, who can turn thier enemies into living furniture by using a power that lets them shape flesh and bone as they please. at best, you die and you become a chair. at worst? you're a ghoul; who gets turned into a ' living' table whos nerves are connected to the house so that if an indruder bumps into you, the whole house feels it and the tzimici is instantly alerted.

daemonculaba sounds like some tzimici shit

If anything that guardsman has THE worst fate out of all of them.
The seige of Hydra Cordatus, the Eye of Terror, Honsou's Fortress, the Daemonculaba, the sewers, the counterattack, the Escape from the Eye and then the Inquisition....

Edit he also had cancer and warp radiation poisoning for about 3/4 of these events.

I always love Isyander's reactions to when Koda says/references something cringe and is absolute correct. "How could you say something so awful and be so correct..."

Isyander’s smile during the pause at 16:10 is exactly how I am when I get the chance to explain the Deamonculaba to someone.

Just adding some more context here as a long time fan of 40k myself. So to make space marines you need those 19 organs made from the dna of the Primarchs. And for these organs to fit and grow properly, not only do the surgeries have to go flawlessly, but the person has to be compatible with the organs, like blood types. Guilliman’s (the Ultramarines) are like O Negative with the lowest rejection rate. So on top of having really good training (similar to our modern day special forces) and a massive amount of resources to work with, his dna works with a lot of people. I believe the actual numbers are around 10% out of recruits are compatible with Ultramarine organs. Blood Angels are up there too. But Primarchs dna all vary wildly. I think Leman Russ (space wolves) have the lowest rate of success, which is why their trials are so extreme. So when you combine having low chance of success, most legions are around the 5% compatibility rate (according to book Dante which follows Dante from early life to astartes training to chapter master status. And in the book, out of the 1000 kids who pass the training, only 50 are able to become astartes. So 5% success rate). Just to give you an idea and to help out this growing channel.

19:30 this moment right here where Koda just regretted his curiosity immediately with the screaming made me spit my drink it with the laughter. You guys are a treat, every time haha

I don't know how it was in the English fandom, but in the Hispanic Warhammer community, with the boom in popularity that Warhammer had in Latin America last year, this was a diffuse topic that the oldest fans refused to tell the newer ones for several months. Every time the new guys talked about something screwed up that happened in some Warhammer story, someone would come out and say something like "That's not even as bad as the Daemonculaba" without giving more context. Then we found out about it and it was funny how a part of the fandom was left with a WTF face.

“like every good story, it begins with the Imperial Fists getting DOG WALKED” 🤣 Isyander, my guy, if I hadn’t been subbed at this point, that statement alone would’ve earned a sub 🤣

at 37:15 you can see Isyander go through five different feelings in a very brief time span. Confusion, realization, excitement, disgust, and then just sadness.

I have a very surface level knowledge on 40K, so when you guys upload my day goes from monotonous to "Oh hell yeah who's heresy are we discussing today"

Congrats on 100k subs, has been a privilege to watch you guys grow.

We knew this was on the horizon... but it doesn't make it any less impressive and terrifying on how quickly y'all grew and how terrifying this topic will be!!!
