A Rough Guide to all the Fish and Coin locations in The Big Catch: Tacklebox demo, which also functions as a tutorial on how to traverse each area. Thankfully despite the patch, this guide will still work for all coin and fish locations, with the exception of one fish. Read further down for some notes about the patch. I tried to avoid making too many cuts so each section flows smoothly through the whole area, but I had to cut down on some useless bits.

The 26th Fish can be found nearby to the imposing dark tower, on top of a massive fossil buried in the sand. Additionally, returning players may find more coins within the Tutorial pit balloons, or a single large coin having been reset at the Fling Course. Enemies must now also be killed once each to drop coins. With the little guys giving 1c, and the big mortar birds giving 5c. These four locations; Pond Tower, Mortar Island, Garden Temple, and Slide Fort all have enemies. Along with the Mortar Birds spread out through the desert.

This game really pushes your platforming skills to the limit... I'm having a blast playing it and this is just a DEMO!

1:03:50 I HATED how hard the platforming was and how I needed multiple days to finish this tower, but not that I finally conquered this challenge...I don't want to leave. This game is something special, man.

garden temple was the second poi that i decided to tackle not knowing it is easily the hardest in the demo, it took me a few very frustrating but really rewarding hours to clear the entire poi and i must say the rest of this demo including 100% completion was a cakewalk after it

this vid is so fascinating to use as a guide, I see one move introduced in a section that completely stumped me and immediately realize all the other spots where the same move or trick would help with other, different coins. Bless you, ive already spent like 4 times the time of this video in just 2 areas, my first ones somehow being the.most difficult ones, of course.

This game is going to be huge. It does for platformers what Dark Souls did for rolling. The sense of accomplishment for me was off the charts. And what fucking atmosphere dear lord it's perfect

I hope the devs refine the controls and character feel. Some jumps and mechanics feel very clunky in the demo. Trampoline jumps and wall runs often feel undercooked.


Example: The wall jump at 43:50 is so damn frustrating. The character won't properly use the wall and always interrupts the wall run halfway through. 


A map in an open world platforming game at some point would be a godsend!


I also don't understand why you can't attack a fish with the rod while trying to catch it...

Thank you for the guide. It was absolutely helpful and I was able to obtain the achievement in no time thanks to you.

Small aside for anyone else who is tries to get the achievement. You can head just a bit more upwards after getting it for an insane view. Cheers.

1:25 i had no clue how to get these coins, this technique saved me hours probably because i wanted to get every coin at the tutorial i just had no clue how to get these two

I was missing only a few coins in the pond tower, and I had no idea where. Felt I scoured everything, and decided to look up what I could have possibly missed. It was this: 12:02 I must have passed by the window through which you can see the coin countless times, yet I never saw it. That was it. I otherwise found everything else myself. Oh well, I practically beat the whole thing without help. Still silly though.

I think it's really important that the coins are finite. If they weren't, the game might have been closer to a modern open world game, in that you could just waste time and farm for them. No doubt if that were the case, you could spend the coins on upgrades and other junk. Maybe some people would care more to pick them up then, because they want to buy those things, but when there's an exact amount of coins, each one is so valuable, and you have to visit every part of the map where there is one. Maybe that's obvious, but this is the first game I've played since Spyro the Dragon in which I've cared so much about getting every single collectible.

What an amazing experience this was. I'd happily have payed 10 dollars for Tackle Box. It took me back to playing almost every 3D platformer I ever have. The open world reminds me of looking into the distance towards the skybox in Spyro, wondering if there's another level out there, except I can actually venture out and find one. The lack of map combined with the contents of the world being only unique, worthwhile things to to (unlike modern open world games) puts it in a league of its own.

I only heard of the game in passing once, liked the look of it when I searched for it, wishlisted it, and completely forgot about it until this demo released. It shot up the wishlist very quickly as I played the demo. Heheh.

Thank you for this. I've been going insane trying to find the last two coins that I was missing going to every location for like 12 Hours and they were the two in the netted area of the fling course. I didn't think that there was a way into there.

for that 10-coin on mortar island, is there any way to get it without that breakable rock? it already broke for me and i cant find a way to get up to that platform without it
