Let's take a look at what low and high PIDs do. This will give you a perspective on what to change when your copter is not behaving the way you want it to behave.

In this video, I set D gain to zero, then I take P gain from 20 to 70 and discuss the differences as I go.

This playlist will culminate with my 1.5 hour PID Tuning Masterclass presentation at the NYC Drone Film Festival on March 18, 2017. (Note: the presentation will be March 18. The video will be uploaded some time later.) In the mean time,

It's 2021 already and this is still my go to video whenever I have a new build that needs tuning.

Josh,

I feel so neglected, so... not so important without your opening greeting of "This is Joshua Bardwell and today, you're going to learn something." :- / Always appreciated !!!

Joshua, I just want to thank you. Every question I have you’ve already created a tutorial video for.

I have got to say, this gave me the best tune I've ever had. I have tried for months following different instructions to tune my Goby. But I went out and tuned following these instructions and the difference was insane. I will be doing this for my Torrent and all future quads!

This by far has been the most informative PID tuning video you have put out. I think isolating the terms is really help it make more sense.

Man, it doesn't matter how far I go back in your videos, everything is pertinent. You truly are a great teacher, thank you for sharing all of your studying and knowledge. Just getting into this hobby is extremely overwhelming, but you do a fantastic job explaining every detail without simplifying it to much.

OMG WHERE IS PART Seriously Josh! Thank you for this. Your explanation as you fly are incredibly helpful. Its great how you show a specific effect with several iterations of the same maneuver, describing what we are seeing AND HEARING as you do it. I don't have to rewind over and over to catch it. this is the kind of tutorial videos we need more of. Well done! I cant wait to see the next video.

I like how you took the P Gain way high to demonstrate and discuss what happens when it's too high. Most PID tuning videos discuss when it's too low and stop when it's just high enough.

I’ve been on the fence about building a quad recently, after watching your videos and seeing how simple PID really is. I am taking the leap. Thanks Josh
