Two Utah girls describe school lockdown announcement

A malfunction caused a Utah elementary school to go on a lockdown that led students to worry about a possible active shooter.

This just happened to me today at school, my high school was surrounded by state troopers and officers within 5 minutes and within another one minute police rushed in with heavy weaponry. Today opened my eyes, thankfully it was just a major threat but wow.

I was in a lockdown on like my second day of middle school
No one on campus but still went into lockdown mode

This happened to me once, there was an accidental fire alarm set off literally 5 minutes before the bell and all the teachers started going into lockdown mode.

This actually happened today to me, it turns out there was no intruder and it was a prank …

Im in gwa dubai and we do it like this: so first the principle says “GENIUS (School motto), please come to reception” after that everybody knows what to do. When the intruder is out the principle says “This is a school announcement, GENIUS is safe” We say “GENIUS please come to reception in order for the intruder not to know that we are talking about him.

My teacher cares for us so much if she would even hear someone shoot she said that we would break a window and she told us to RUN she didn't care if she got left behind but she wanted us to run to the house across form our school.

If that was me idk care if the person is in my room (in good way) I'm getting anything sharp and busting that window open and crying all at the same time!I would put my phone/tablet on silent and turn my down a nd test my mom or any family member near my school and then 911.if I cant get out I'll go in the bathroom and not the one in the room but the public one outside my room at this point. I have never been in a code red only a yellow and luckily that ended after school. The next day I came I was prepared God forbid it a lock down happened this what you read is what I would probably do. Stay safe out there non homeschools/normal school❤😊
