Here is an example of a series for which the root test doesn't apply! Which series test to use then? Hmmm, watch this video to find out!

One question: What is known about the transcendence of the value of the sum from 1 to inf of 1/(2^n-1) or the value of the sum from 0 to inf of 1/(2^n+3^n)? Does these converge to transcendental numbers?

Why did you do this to my Root Test?!!!

I have done this series by splitting into 2 series, one for odd N, the other one for even N. I have observed that one series is convergent, but another one is divergent. So I had convergent + divergent = divergent, so the initial series is divergent.

In calc 2 i was dealing with some nastly series and it took me a lot of failed attemts, i checked to see whether or not as n becomes large enough, An approaches zero

which it didn't and i concluded that the series diverges

Since then i always check this and then try other tests
