Top climbing hack: suck it up princess. To go down, you must make it to the top first

Great video, but what about locking on your front fork? That REALLY makes a big difference.

Personally I find the first point Scotty makes is really true. I do find climbing easier when the wheel is spinning

One useful hack for the steeper climbs is to sit on the nose of your saddle and to lean forward. The angle of your seat tube relative to your body changes when your bike is angled up. By moving your body slightly forward, the angle of your seat tube relative to your body will be more similar to when you are pedaling on the flat. It will actually give you a bit more power and it will recruit the proper muscle groups.

It is easy to talk about climbing when you ride Exceed :D Bought one with RS1 fork and since I have it, I love going uphill more than anything else... That bike is uphill rocket

There is one thing that they surprisingly did not talk about: traction. I changed tires with better traction and was amazed by discovering how much energy I was wasting with a tire that slipped ever so often. It more than offset the drawback of increased drag.

Can you do a video on efficient use of fork/shock lockout?

Could you do a video specifically on technical/trials climbing? A lot of singletrack in my area has technical climbs with uphill rock gardens where you have to pedal out of the saddle and manual/hop up big ledges, and there's heaps of stuff I haven't been able to clean yet.

You've actually forgot one more tip: locking the the rear shock (for fullsus bikes) and even the fork (for sprints).

Squats, walking lunges, dead lifts. Blowing out in the gym once a week followed by a rest day makes hills less steep. Can't spell legendary without leg day....

with the right genetics HIIT training can be better for endurance than cardio, so if you think it is working keep going. if you think its not helping then tone it back a bit xD

I have no problem completing a climb but I am always exhausted when I finish. but my hills (2 per lap) are steeper and are rocky like fire trails. I would like to know how to save more energy for the rest of the lap and future laps but without sacrificing speed.

is there a good balance between fast rolling and grippy tyres for climbs? The climbs in my local trails are all fairly steep and usually gloopy.
