Wow thanks everyone for the amazing feedback! I did this video purely out of frustration that I couldn't find any info about this topic on youtube, so rather complaining about it, I just decided to do it myself. I have a couple ideas for more videos like this so stay tuned! :D

Very cool man, awesome to see other people like myself interested in the “behind the curtain” stuff in the world

Cool, man. Bought a CAN adaptor for a pi I've had lying around months ago but never got around to actually using it in any diagnostic capacity, this is a great jumping off point.

Can't read hardly any of this as I'm watching Mobile. But it'll still get me started

EXCELLENT, I just "tripped" into this area of CAN bus from OBD-II. This is a great summarization of all the other "stuff" I found. Thanks from straying from you normal post !!!

Hi. Thank you for your video. Would definitely like to see more. Maybe interfacing with a small ECU airbag or abs.

SUPER, thanks for your time making this video for your page, I realize its not your norm, however being new to CAN, and wanting to generate CAN messages from ESP32, onto OBDlink, then
to a Tourqe App, on Android. Your info, together with another YouTuber, I am hopeful I can do that.

unless you have insider data as a company's engineer, how on hell can you get a dbc file of your car's CAN data

5:52 question, so how long does it take to find out the DBC file of a vehicle? and how can we find the appropriate pattern for an information? for example I try to press the gas pedal to find out which rpm info from the value that changes

Hi, any advice on how to implement your own OBD2 adapter on the 11b canbus system ? I need to do something like an ELM bluetooth adapter for my motorcycle, but as usual, there is not much data about this :/

I think I am in trouble. I am trying to get CAN Data from a Tesla Gateway. These usually interface to a PowerWall I have an old and discontinued model the Gen 1 and I cannot find any of the data I need to decode this properly. I am trying to use SavvyCAN software to help but not sure how successful I will be. I have seen several videos with people getting at the CAN Data in a Tesla Car. Not sure how much info will cross over. Thanks for this Video.

idk about the mcp2515, but the 2517fd interface basically crashes when transmitting messages in any manner...

Hello, I have a Tesla Model 3, I have a Raspberry Pi 0 W connected to a USB CAN-BUS interface, I also have a 12 to 5V adapter connected and a Tesla ODBCII cable, all of which are connected to the CAN-BUS and I've set-up the Raspberry Pi so I can share the CAN-BUS interface over my WiFi network so when the car is outside my house I can connect to the CAN-BUS interface on my iMAC and using SavvyCAN or Wireshark I can see the CAN-BUS data. What I am trying to do is identity the following signal data, where I can find the left / right signal indicators when the driver moves the indicator switch, if reverse is engaged and if the brakes are used. Can anyone help me identify these as so far having spent quite some time looking for them I cannot see them. I also have downloaded the Model3CAN.dbc file.
