Just FYI about magnetic anomolies. I worked as a tour guide for 7 years at the Oregon Vortex House of Mystery which is a true magnetic anomaly like the Bermuda triangle. Although Oregon's Vortex is only an acre in size there was a no fly zone in place for years so planes and helicopters could avoid flying over the area. It will indeed mess with compass readings. I never saw one work right for the time I was there. They can spin erratically or point one direction then another but seldom to magnetic north. With the advent of modern day GPS planes no longer have to avoid flying over the Vortex.
Other phenomenon at the Oregon Vortex included balls appearing to roll up hill, and extreme height changes. Two people standing on a level platform will appear almost equal in height but they switch sides and one person appears to get shorter while the other appears to get taller, creating an extreme height difference. Obviously height isn't actually changing but the illusion is extreme and cool to experience. And nothing can roll uphill, we can't defy gravity, so the ball is really rolling downhill but appears the opposite. Anyway if you get the chance I highly suggest taking a tour of the Oregon Vortex if your ever in the neighborhood. The Mystery Spot at Santa Cruz is another true Vortex. There are fake ones but those are legit.
