In this short video, we’re going to talk about how to deal with heavy periods. This could be an estrogen dominance situation. If you take birth control pills or are on some type of estrogen, or you consume a lot of soy, you may want to find an alternative. These things could be contributing to too much estrogen.

4 key tips for heavy periods:
1. Avoid dairy
Dairy can increase estrogen.

2. Consume cruciferous vegetables
Cruciferous vegetables are anti-estrogenic. Consuming either a concentrated cruciferous vegetable product called DIM, or cruciferous vegetables themselves could help balance estrogen.

3. Take calcium D glucarate
This product may help detoxify the liver. In the liver, there are certain enzymes that are constantly balancing estrogen. Calcium D glucarate could help those enzymes work better and may help lower estrogen dominance.

4. Ovex (standard process)
This product called could help with heavy periods, and support the ovaries.

I have ridiculously heavy periods. My naturopath tested my hormones, they are fine but I was extremely deficient in iron and vitamin A. now taking iron, vitamin A AND vitamin K, made a difference in only one month.

I'm 63 and in menopause now, but when i was in my menstrating days I had periods so heavy, blood clots the size of the palm of my hand and cramps very severe..I was 38 at that time..My OBGYN told me I was LOW on Iron.. started me on Ferrous Sulfate (IRON) and I started eating foods high in Iron..Liver is one..and by week 3, I was back to normal periods..to all the women with heavy periods, have your Iron Levels checked....

This is the only that really ever helped me. Seriously.

My heavy periods 8 yrs ago were due to a huge uterine fibroid. I had my uterus removed as a result; however, I firmly believe that had I known about the removal of sugar from my diet & reduction of carbs, I could have shrunk that tumor & wouldn't have needed the operation.

My wife is 58 and finally considered in menopause after a lifetime of very heavy periods! Too bad she didn’t know about any of this information. Doctors had no good advise.

The only thing helped is K2 with D3. There is research on vitamin K2 for heavy periods and I take it every single day 300mcg of K2 and 30000IU of D3. Before taking high amount of K2 I had heavy periods for at least 10 days long, now at maximum 5 days and only 1 day of heavy period (usually always second day) without any pain as well. Two of my friends tested it and it helped a lot, even tho they didn't fix their diet. I think this should be on the board as well. 😊😊

Thank you so so much for talking about women's health. I used to have extremely painful periods. Have you ever done a video on that? I really wished I had changed my diet and relaxed more instead of going for a hysterectomy. To all the women out there, please avoid hysterectomy. Wishing all girls and women relief and healing.

I started cycling at 8. At 41 (currently 42) my doctor (DO) suggest seed cycling. Since my first cycle, I have had heavy cycles-8 days every 28 days. After my 3rd child (23 yrs old) I developed serious cramping and cysts. After laparoscopic surgery I was told I had Endometriosis and PCOS. Doctors at that time told me Lupron shots were only way to go. (Age 27). I tried AIP diet which helped immensely with inflammation in my body. At 37 I got pregnant following low carb. I now follow keto (dairy free because dairy triggered cysts) and seed cycling. My cycle for the past year has been regular, 5 days...only 1 day of heavy the rest are spotting, no off moods (I would get super angry and tearful), and no breast tenderness or cramping.

I would also add Red Raspberry Leaf tea or capsules. Works amazing both to lighten flow and reduce cramps

I started my period at 9 years old. I use to miss school the week of my period because of extreme symptoms. I have discovered I am estrogen dominant thanks to Dr Berg and I can barely even tell when I have my period. I take 2 of the estrogen with dim supplements and eat grass fed meat and vegetables 1 meal a day. This has helped me so much!

I had severe dysmenorrhea. I eat a Paleo diet and I stopped the major inflammatory foods: dairy and gluten.
I've read a study on how cramps improved after 3 months of taking omega 3 fatty acids from fish oil.

I still take some ketoprofen but much less that I used to. I thought the pain would never go away, but I'm so much better.
I also took Vitex for 4 months and it did help. Also bio identical progesterone helped a lot.

This hit home.. I suffer with this, and was told I was anaemic so recently I started seeing an improvement after consuming 2 cups of spinach and raw vegetable juices every day. The only problem is OVEX in the UK is a worm remedy so that one confused me some. Completely agree with the cruciferous veg however. I have not been able to include the Calcium D Glucarate yet but def considering it..

Consuming cinnamon will help to squelch the flo but be careful with this if you have histamine intolerance or a sensitive stomach or have sensitivities to salicylates or oxalates .
