This announcement coincides with Intel cutting various employee benefits, primarily quarterly bonuses and employee recognition programs. It could be a complete coincidence, but it sounds like it’s part of wider cost-cutting measures at Intel. Glad LTT found a replacement because the tech upgrade videos are always the best

I'm really looking forward to AMD's version of this. It sounds awesome. I do kinda understand Intel's decision here, given their financial situation, and also the rumors that AMD is going to completely eat their lunch in the datacenter market over the next year or two.

Dennis' Intel Extreme Tech Upgrade was hilarious, I've watched it several times just because it's so fun to have him just live out all of his chaotic good energy.

I'm surprised that Intel kept it going this long. But I hope they saw a benefit from it, because it was an awesome show of goodwill. Yeah, I'll never get a "free" $5000 to spend on equipment. But it's great that your employees are getting it. And the videos are great.
And I think it's great that AMD is going to pick up the flag. Now they'll get to showcase their stuff.
