I want this SO BAD (but I can't have it) - Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design

You know, I was surprised when the new Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design ACTUALLY showed up at our door. With a design that looks like it was ripped from a Sci-fi movie from the 2010s, Huawei has created a stunning looking device... with some compromises. Is a triple folding screen phone cool enough to make Linus switch to a phone without Google services?

Linus, you may not see this comment but if you do. There was a leak that Honor (The company that was forced to leave Huawei if it wanted to sell in the West) is making their own version of the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate. It most likely will look the same, but would probably be sold in western markets unlike the Huawei. Which means it'll have all the Google play services you want.

You CAN install full GMS on the Mate XT via MicroG services. There are video tutorials on YouTube (Average logs) on how to install microG on HarmonyOS4.2. I did this on my old Mate X3. Average Dad YouTube channel has a video with full GMS on his Mate XT.

Hats off to Huawei. After all their ban and limitations in the western market, they still continue to make amazing products. They even have a new phone OS coming up which I'm excited to see in person.

It literally uses two DDIC to drive a single panel with 6 different zones in total. That's why if you're using 1/3 of the screen, the battery life is similar to a non-foldable phone. Because it can control how much zone it actually drive. And somehow they keep the consistency of quality through 6 zones. So I think 90Hz is totally acceptable considering one manufacturer still treat high refresh rate as a function to divide their normal and Pro series.🤣

My huawei (p20 Pro) is from march 2018, still works like day 1, still snappy and still has the best fingerprint reader i ever tried

Last month I got the opportunity to visit China and I went to a Huawei flagship store there. Oh boy I can tell y'all it's like a techie's wetdream. THe products on display (this phone included) and the space inside of the store itself feel like Apple store but 10 times better.

Huawei isn't banned in Canada, just their networking for telecommunications and gov applications (after nonstop hounding from our peers did JT actually do something about it...). We could get their phones here, however after Google denied them access (I think that's how it went down) they had to do their own thing, and Canada being but a tiny country (Pop wise) and possibly the only English speaking one allowing their phones still we were simply not worth their time to reinvest. Their other items are in fact not banned including home networking watches and computers.
