*ABOUT THE LOST MEDIA SOMEDAY SCHOOL*
-The only information about the block itself comes from a few video clips found on Youtube, one being the footage used in this video, and the other being an article from The Washington Post on July 18th, 1998 by Scott Moore.
-The article names all the shows and described "My World" as a game show with "wildlife footage and computer animation to introduce viewers to natural history" made in New Zealand.

What shows do you remember from PBS Kids? Although I only really mentioned my top 5 I definitely watched so many more.

And if there’s any other channels you would want me to cover make sure and let me know!

I'm really late 😔
Thank you for making this ❤
(As for my favorites shows, honestly one could probably make another 24/7 channel ...or 2 😵‍💫)

I wasn't born until 1997, so some of the earlier ones I may not remember. Though I do have faint memory of "The Slow Norris", though I could never remember its name until yesterday. But it's perhaps more surreal how there are only three shows from before 2010 that are still airing today.

Funny enough, my local station on top of not playing a quarter of these shows, or deciding to stop airing some of the few still running shows, it never received the 2013 rebrand. I think it also held off on premiering a few shows until way after they were supposed to.

Thanks for making this video. There's some shows mentioned here I've legit never heard of before like Groundling Marsh, The Eddie Files, Bloopy's Buddies and The Reppies though I was probably too young to remember them since I was born in 1995 LOL so that's when you know you made a comprehensive video. The shows mentioned here I remember watching at some point in my childhood are Mister Rogers, Sesame Street, Reading Rainbow, Kidsongs, The Big Comfy Couch, Barney & Friends, Theodore Tugboat, The Magic School Bus, Jay Jay the Jet Plane, Wimzie's House, Wishbone, Adventures from the Book of Virtues, Arthur, Teletubbies, Caillou, Zoom, Zoboomafoo, Bob the Builder, Dragon Tales, Between the Lions, Clifford, George Shrinks, Seven Little Monsters, Sagwa, Cyberchase, Liberty's Kids, The Berenstain Bears, Postcards from Buster and The Zula Patrol

There was also 1996 spinoff to “WITWICS?” called “Where In Time is Carmen Sandiego?” which aired for two seasons during “The Game” era of PBS Kids.

I have some things to correct. First, Dash and Dot weren't named Dash and Dot until 2006. They were called PBS Kids Boy and PBS Kids Girl beforehand. Second, Clifford couldn't have aired on Bookworm Bunch, because the Bookworm Bunch block was only shows animated by Nelvana. Not just shows based off books. Speaking of 2006, in 2006, there was a preschool block launched, you forgot to mention that. You also forgot to mention the 2008 rebrand that happened, where the ID's were given more of an arts & crafts look. You also forgot to mention that it's unknown if the 2 new mascots, Dee and Del, are siblings to Dash and Dot. My headcanon is that they're cousins. And also, Dash appears again in an episode of Word of the Week, called Community. Also, Millo started airing on PBS Kids in 2024, but began in 2021. So you're technically correct. Also, great video. Curious George is an amazing show, it's definitely my favorite.

I grew up every PBS kids shows from the 90s, 2000s and early 2010s

My top 5 favorites are Sesame Street, Thomas including shining time station, Barney, Mr Rogers, and Arthur.

You also forgot to mention that in 1998, PBS kids kind of rebranded but not really, but just showed new bumpers featuring cartoon versions of places such as a neighborhood/sidewalk, underwater with a submarine, a daisy field with flowers, and outer space with a rocket, and shows even had coming up next bumpers based off those bumpers.

This branding was primarily used until 1999, but it really got dropped in the 2000's and sometimes into the 2010's with WEDU using them until early 2021.

I had 2 PBS stations that used this branding for station IDS which are Maryland Public Television which did so from 1998-2002, and WETA which did so from 1998-2006, and I also have a third PBS station WHUT, but that station didn't use them at all.

These bumpers usually started with a white background with a black squiggly line, then revealing the backgrounds that I mentioned, and these were animated at fable vision.

There was no system cue for these bumpers, but if they made one it would have the red and blue buildings sliding away revealing the sidewalk/neighborhood bumper, and then the bus from that bumper appears with a red p head, PBS in light gray, and kids in blue, and kids would be on that bus and Mr. Rogers is driving it, and the kids and Mr. rogers would look at the camera and chant PBS and yes the black squiggly line would appear in front of it, and this would be used as a system cue from 1998-September 2000 when the transformation bumpers would replace them, but would occasionally be used for programs in late 2000 and up, and still would be used if PBS stations aired older prints of episodes of shows that would end with this fan made logo.

If you want to see videos with this branding check out some WETA 2000, 2001, and 2002 program breaks, among other videos with those bumpers.

What was your PBS station or PBS stations, and if you watched PBS kids in the late 1990's/the 2000's, did you station or stations use the white background with black squiggly line bumpers animated at fable vision or did they not?
